**Weekly Wrap Up**

I had no intention of doing a weekly wrap up post this week with so many of my fellow book bloggers away at Harrogate, but I just had to share how many books I’ve read this week. Now I know this is a post that causes much merriment amongst some of my fellow book bloggers not mentioning any names,  but Dee over at http://www.noveldeelights.com springs to mind! Well I hope you are all sitting down because I have actually read four books and started on a fifth (yes you read that right) this week! I’m definitely on a roll well for now anyway 😂😂

I’m thrilled to report I’ve kept up my NetGalley self imposed ban, so although I haven’t actually read any books  from my rather small cough, cough! NetGalley shelf I haven’t added to it either!

Although I did buy a couple of books, but to be fair my long suffering husband Andy doesn’t help as he bought me another Amazon Voucher as a surprise, but he knows me so well! and so it would be rude not to spend at least some of it!

Good morning everyone as usual I’ve managed to read another two books this week, although I would like to read more I just haven’t got the time at the moment, so at least I’m being consistent by reading two books 😂😂

News from the book review café

I can finally share my fantastic news with you all, anyone who follows my weekly wrap up post’s will know a month or so ago I was privileged to read a “top secret” Arc, as some of you may have noticed it was The Cosy Canal Boat Dream by the awesome Christie Barlow. As followers of my blog will know I would say 90% (ok 99.9%) of the books I read and review are crime or psychological thrillers,  but every time I leave “the dark side” it usually involves the very talented Christie Barlow.

I won’t be sharing my review just yet as ***squeals with delight*** my review will be published in September’s edition of Mama Life Magazine http://www.mamalifemagazine.co.uk. I can’t believe I’ve been given the opportunity to actually write a review for a magazine,  and although I’m thrilled I’m also very nervous, self doubt rears it’s ugly head as usual! I can’t help thinking readers of the magazine will hate it 🙈

And on a finally note I would highly recommend The Cosy Canal Boat Dream I think it’s Christie Barlow’s best book yet, her writing goes from strength to strength……. and a word of warning have the “tissues at the ready” And here’s another teaser for you all………

I know I said I wasn’t buying any more books for a while but as I mentioned last week Ebooks don’t count in”Lorraine’s world” 😂😂 and I’ve read some fabulous reviews for The Fact Of The Body so I couldn’t resist. As for Unravelling Oliver I’ve been wanting to read this one for ages and I accidentally on purpose “clicked” on the book version so epic fail there!

I haven’t requested any ARC’s from Netgalley as my percentage is 82% and I hope to read a few more from my pile and get it higher, until them I’m still on a self imposed book buying ban and I think this is the third week I haven’t bought any books! But I’m sure I will more than make up for it at some point.

**Weekly Wrap Up**

I have surpassed myself this week are you ready? I read five, yes you read that right! Five whole full length books and just started on my sixth! This isn’t because I’ve finally found a pattern to fit in reading between work, I actually had an accident don’t panic I’m still in one piece just about!

I bought myself a lovely pair of wedges to wear out last Saturday night and all was well until I walked home twisted my foot in the bloody things and went down like a sack of spuds, apart from a bloody finger and a huge bruise on my foot and ankle I was fine, well until I got up the next morning in agony my neck went into spasm and has been ever since! Consequently I haven’t been able to work (no work no pay 😢) or do anything apart from read (always a silver lining I guess😂😂), mind you the meds I’m taking also make me really sleepy otherwise I would probably have read another book or two!

The moral of the story?  I need to wear flat shoes at all time for my own safety, anyone looking for a pair of gorgeous pink wedges? Free to a good home 😂😂

Two! I’m keeping well away from NetGalley at the moment as promised in last weeks post, but I did request Karin Slaughter’s new book The Good Daughter ages ago and finally got accepted (so that doesn’t count😂🙈).

I also got sent an ARC of Shadows by Conrad Jones, after reading Brick which I loved there was no way I could ignore this one

I’m not sure how long it’s been sat there as I don’t tend to look at my dashboard page on NetGalley I’m usually to busy salivating at all the wonderful books on there,  but some how or other I managed to get my Top Reviewer badge which made my day.

I’m so pleased I’ve cut back on the blog tours I’ve actually turned down so many this week, even though they were for really fantastic books. It’s such a brilliant feeling to be able to pick and choose my own books with no time constraints.

**Weekly Wrap Up**

Well another week over and done with,  and I’m thrilled to report I’ve read two books this week (yes you’ve read that right!) and I’ve actually started on my third. I would like to thank fellow blogger Dee over at http://www.noveldeelights.com who has shown great sympathy for my plight, NOT! For some reason my reading slump has caused her a great deal of merriment, I wonder if that’s because I was about to rename my blog “the one book review café” 😂😂

Just in case anyone thinks I’m worried about the amount of books I’m reading I’m not. It doesn’t matter if I read one book or ten in a week, it’s still a book read. I must admit cutting back on blog tours has given me a sense of freedom, it’s liberating to pick up a book I want to read rather than having to read. I’ve actually turned down 15 blog tours this week for May,  June and July but I’m determined to give myself a break from them.

I’ve also lost my fellow guest reviewer Jo who has finally decided to set up her own blog over at http://overtherainbowbookblog.wordpress.com, please check out her blog and give her a follow. I wish Jo all the best with her blog and would like to take this opportunity to thank her for the reviews she’s allowed me to share, the lovely Dee has offered to help out on the weeks I can only manage to read one book a week 😂😂

I’m thrilled to have been nominated for the Best Book Blogger Award in the 2017 ANNUAL BLOGGERS BASH AWARDS, and if you happen to be reading this and nominated me “thank you”😘😘. I can honestly say “hand on heart” I really don’t expect to win, have you seen who I’m up against? Some truly awesome bloggers/blogs, but it’s given me such a huge boost to be nominated.

I also think there are some hugely awesome book bloggers out there who aren’t up for the awards but should be, they put their heart and souls into their blog and probably lots of tears too (if there anything like me), although these awards are great I do feel they can have a negative effect on bloggers who don’t get the recognisation they so deserve and make them question why that are blogging. A word from the wise (it happens once in a blue moon😂)to these bloggers, keep doing what you are doing, share your love of the books you love and most of all carry on with your awesome blogs, awards aren’t everything, when I first started blogging I never got nominated for anything.
